I do recall the intersection of US-36 and US-41 in Rockville, it has
built up considerably since then. The only businesses I remember are
"Gooch's Dairy Frost" and "Sparky's Diner". Sparky's belonged to the
family of my friend's brother-in-law, and that was where I was
introduced to "Broasted Chicken".
I'm not sure either of those places are still there.
When I first went through that intersection in about 1988, it was
pretty sparse. There's a Burger King and a brand new CVS at that
intersection today.
I wasn't very clear in my first post. Neither of those places was at
the corner of US-36 & US-41. Sparky's was east and south of there
somewhere. I don't remember where Gooch's was, it may have been north
of there on the east side of 41.
