The WMFs look good. Interesting that you went ahead with the green
background on the guide sign examples. I usually go for a transparent
background on guide sign versions (PNG and GIF) but then IIRC WMF does
not support transparency. I think SVG does.
Thank you. I added the green background because I felt the edges of
the sunflower needed to be distinguished from the white background
supplied by most Web browsers, and I felt a green surround was
preferable to applying a black outline. My personal rule for
designing signs in 'CorelDRAW' is never to use outlines except to
delineate the physical edge of a complete sign, as in this example:

I have *.PNG versions of some of these markers. I am now using a
*.PNG of the guide sign marker as my avatar in a different forum:

I made it by applying all the foreground elements (route marker and
green background) to a transparent canvas when exporting out of
'CorelDRAW', and then applied feathering using a layer mask in
'Photoshop'. I also stretched the canvas to create empty space around
the avatar, which allows it to fit in more attractively in its
designated slot.
*.WMF and *.SVG are both scalable vector formats. This means that
each file is simply a group of objects which can be resized, deleted,
have outlines and fills applied to them, etc. They can also be
rasterized and saved to raster formats like *.GIF, *.PNG, and so on.
The green background is easy enough to delete and I would think any
competent vector graphics program would provide a facility for
rasterizing on a transparent canvas.
