That map pretty much shows why I think Omaha's action is a naked power
grab. There are all those subdivisions that are NOT technically part of
Omaha, and yet Omaha cherry-picks the shortest contiguous route to
Elkhorn.
If Omaha's going to take Elkhorn, it should also be forced to take all
those subdivisions that would actually make sense to BE part of Omaha.
Rest assured, Omaha will get all those subdivisions in between, in due
course. The big priority is to sew up all that commercial frontage on
the West Dodge Expressway first. Within 10-15 years, every square mile
of land east of 204th from Fort Street to the Sarpy County line will
have subdivisions on it.
