Re: SOT: Oil's slide could push gas to $1.15

What are you going to do about congestion. Can we build our way out of
it?
Do we want to? What are the true costs?

The true cost are about one to two orders of magnitude less that building
transit. With electronics for cars and roads in the early days, the cost
will be three to four orders of magnitude less than transit and a lot faster
than is ever possible with transit.

Sir:
I would not believe a word you say. I really believe you are a
pathological liar.
Furthermore, you include nothing about the huge subsidies the current
trucking industry recieve.

What are the true costs of building a corridor hundreds of feet wide
through undeveloped land? Why continue heavy subsidies to trucks when
cities like New York are getting
murdered by extremely heavy truck traffic? Where is the innovation
for that?
They are still doing the same things they did in the 30's, and the same
things that
the horses and buggies did on the same streets.

So, I guess you are in favor of building the truck only toll road in
the median of I-81
through VA. I suppose we should build a complete duplicate of the
interstate highway system for trucks only. Damn the environment,
right.

What are you, subsidised by the American Trucking Association?

Take care,
