You mean US 71/ Future I-49?

Last I looked (2-3 weeks ago), there was the beginnings of paving from
Anderson to near Route EE at Pineville. EE was also realigned to make
way
for an interchange with 71. I haven't been down Route H between
Pineville &
Noel to check progress.


Around Joplin, MO 249 is now 4 lanes from I-44 to just north of 7th
Street
(Mo66). I haven't seen much other construction work in that area.

What about the stretch between Pineville and the state line? The last
time I was there it was being 4-laned, though the future I-49 will not
follow that route.

From the state line to just south of Brush Creek Rd , it's complete.
Partially-controlled access with Jersey barriers & traffic signals ;)

From Brush Creek, north, it's still being worked on.

Also: does Arkansas have some sort of schedule on the Bella Vista
Bypass timed with Missouri's schedule?

I THINK they do, but I haven't heard. Now that the Arkansas portion will be
a Toll Road, one would think it'd be completed faster... but then, this is
Arkansas. I-540 from Fayetteville to I-40 was proposed for over 20 years
before it was built.

You have to wonder though...look how long the stretch through Bella
Vista was 4-lane in Arkansas but 2-lane in Missouri. I'd hate to see
Missouri, with the tendency to be slower rather than faster than
neighboring states in construction, build a freeway/tollway that
dead-ends at the state line.
