Cincinnati Question

We made a last minute quick-trip from Chicago to Elkhorn City KY this
weekend. This evening (Sunday) as we were coming back we decided to
drive thru Cincinnati on I-75 to I-74 instead of our usual route
around it on I-275. As we were coming down Covington Hill the view
was magnificent, the sun shining just right on the buildings.

As we crossed over the river on the lower level of the I-75 Spence
bridge we saw hundreds of small boats in the river all bunched up on
the Kentucky side bunched up around the Newport area, but none at all
on the Cincy side.

In addition ramps to I-71 and US-50 were closed down by CPD.

I don't know if this is due to a football game or baseball game or if
there was some other event. There was no one in the stands at Paul
Brown Stadium but I couldn't tell if there was anything at Great
American.

Was there a Fireworks display scheduled for Saturday night perhaps?
