I came up with this one last night while driving through the western
Chicago suburbs on I-88. Let's see how smart y'all are. :)
Before April 2006, there were two Interstate highways that re-entered a
time zone they had already previously run through. Where do these
Interstates meet?
Chattanooga,, Tn??
No...I-75 stays in ET all the way, and I-24 only switches time zones once,
at the Marion/Hamilton County line in Tennessee. (Ditto for I-59, which
heads into ET at the Alabama/Georgia line, about 20 miles from where it
ends at I-24.)
After reading the post again I realized I was wrong. Actually though, it
wasn't until fairly recently that they moved the time zone line to the west
side of Chattanooga.
It used to follow I-75 entirely. As I found out years ago on a trip.
Chattanooga was on Central while I75 was eastern.
It couldn't have been any more recent than about 1975, as I was driving
through that area on the way to/from eastern Kentucky then, and the time
change up I-59 was where it still is now - and it was the only time change.
(I went into Chattanooga a time or two and their time was ET.)

This is a good one for historian Marc:
in the 50's was it not true that all of Indiana, including Indianapolis
was in Central Time? Why did they split the state like they did.
Now I do not remember where it ran through MI in those days, did it jog
completely
along the IN-MI bprder?
Take care,
