I paid nearly $5/gallon for Diesel in France in October and it's weird
to think of gas prices here at home nearing what they are there (I
assume prices haven't gone up nearly as much in France since October as
they have here).
When I was in France in May, it was going for around 1.50 euros/liter,
or close to $7 a gallon.
I had recently completed a road trip from Missouri to Seattle and back;
most places were around $2.90. Cheapest was in Wyoming at $2.69 for
85-octane; most expensive was in North Platte, Nebraska at $3.17.
We're sitting at $2.76 in my area for now, subject to change. The
tendency here is for prices to drop 2-5 cents at a time or rise 5-15
cents at a time.
