US 60 is *mostly* 4lane from around Charleston, IL to Springfield, MO.
There are a couple segments west of Poplar Bluff that are still 2lanes.
US 160 has some twists and turns west of Springfield and lots of small
communities. Last time I was through the area, there was major road
construction on US 160 between the MO State Line and Pittsburg. The detour
wasn't well marked.
You may wish to consider when you get to Springfield to stay on 60 until it
turns into MO 360, then following 360 to I-44. Then west on 44 to US 71 .

just my opinion of course ;)
