Re: NC: Increased Fines for 70 MPH Zones?

Our Traffic Control Unit recommends a construction zone speed no lower

At a construction zone on a city street near me the speed limit remained at 30 mph but orange top speed limit signs and fines doubled signs were put up. Half the street was dug up the other half was made one way and the cross streets were blocked on one side. Traffic actually moved faster than normal. The crosswalks were left open. It was a bit dangerous for a pedestrian stepping out from between the Jersey Barriers.
