Not "major", per se, but larger than what would have been encountered
along your proposed routing, HB...
Kozel makes a good point for I-64's current routing between Lexington
and Beckley.
On the flip side, one could make an argument that I-64 should have gone
through Lynchburg and possibly Roanoke, instead of through
Charlottesville. You alluded to that here:
