Thanks for all the input. I appreciate all your thoughts, and any more
are very welcome.
Please feel free to email me at pigsty1953@xxxxxxxxx with any and all
comments and questions.
As I said in the thread last year on my trip out west, I am in the
midst of a dilemma with what I am going to do and what I should do.
Everything is on hold right now due to the winter and being pretty
sick. But spring will come and hopefully I will feel better. But I
have a lot of decisions to make and if and when I do get into computers
I have a lot of studying and work to do.
If you really want to shed some tears, I had copies of the original
signing plans for ALL of the TBTA bridges and tunnels in NYC and copies
of the original signing plans for the New England Thruway.
Unfotunately they are long gone...
I had pretty much every Gousha map published. I have to check with my
old HS as they may have some of them.
Jeff: you have seen my sign drawings and you saw one of my signing
plans at Lancaster so if you have any ideas, I would really appreciiate
it. Adam also.
I was going to add one other thing on CMS I don't think anyone has
mentioned.
Backi in the 60's in various places there were signs with incandescent
bulbs, like used on the scoreboards that could display various
messages. To my mind those were the original CMS.
Also you had the weigh station signing with the incandescent light
bulbs: COPEND controlled by a switch..
Does anyone remember how they signed the reversible lanes on I-70 in St
Louis, I-90/94 Edens/Kennedy, and the 5 in Seattle in the 60's? This
was before fiber-optics and LEDs.
Again, please feel free to email me:

all questions and comments are greatly appreciated.
Take care,
