Heh. My grandma used to have this old German guy living nextdoor to her
out on Long Island (Suffolk County) - we came down to visit from our
place near Albany once, and he was telling us about his usual route to
get upstate. "Yeah, I take 687 to 95, then 278 over to 648 and take
that up through Westchester..." Made me laugh a bit.

There was even a New York Times article a couple of years ago - I
remember it was about something that happened near Shea Stadium. Their
little tiny reference map that they used showed I-687 on the Van Wyck
Expwy. instead of 678. I found it ... interesting... I mean come on,
it's their own city...
