Longest distance wo service grew by 2 miles (or shrunk by 4)

My holiday travels took me on I-70 between Green River and Salina Utah
which the FAQ lists as having the longest distance on an interstate
without services. It appears UDOT has been busy re-signing and
re-numbering I-70 since I was last on this piece (but not repaving =-( ).
The Salina exit was and is exit 54. But the "closest" Green River exit
jumped from exit 158 to exit 160. The sign that formally said "Next
services on I-70 110 miles" in Green River has been replaced with 106
miles (sorry, I didn't have a camera handy at Green River, and I wasn't
paying attention in Salina to see if there was a sign change).
FWIW the FAQ lists this distance as 104 miles based from the old exit
number. Also FWIW, I am also a little surprised how passe the
"...106/110 miles" sign was and is considering how big of a deal some
states make of distances as short as 20 miles. I guess UDOT figures no
sign can help someone driving on I-70 who can't figure out themselves to
fill up in Green River. =-)
Just a little raodgeek tidbit for your holiday enjoyment =-)
