WisDOT has recently put up a website for the US 10 expansion between
Stevens Point and Marshfield:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/projects/us10/index.htm
Highlights include a map of numbering changes associated with the
project (including WI 13 relocation and WI 66 extension to WI Rapids)
and a schedule map that lays out what will be constructed when.
Apparently, WI 34 will not be truncated when WI 13 is realigned on it?
Looks like US 10 will be a freeway from I-39 to WI 34 south (future WI
13 south) and an expressway the rest of the way to Marshfield.
No interchange maps as of yet but I'm interpreting that the I-39/US 10
west interchange will be a trumpet located just north of the existing
CTH X interchange (exit 165). Also, it seems that I-39/US 51 will be
getting a new interchange at Casimir Road 2 miles south of the trumpet
interchange. I guess that means the CTH X interchange will disappear.
Interchanges on US 10 will be at WI 34 north, future WI 13 south
(current WI 34 south) and WI 13 north. Construction starts next year
on US 10 over the Wisconsin River and will continue through 2011.
Good to see WisDOT put up a website for this project unlike all the
other US 10 expansions between Stevens Point and Waupaca.
