You might try emailing AHTD. They've always been helpful to me. They have emailed and snail mailed me maps at no charge.
As for the road itself (AR 549), imagine a flatter I-540. It's a very nice road, with long exit ramps and wide medians.
Is AR 549 the same road as US 71, at least for this project's limits?
AR 549 is the designation given to what was referred to as the "US 71 relocation." I-540 N of I-40 was also originally referred to as a relocated US 71.
Originally, US 71 was to move onto the AR 549 freeway, and old 71 was to become a reincarnated AR 471, but businesses complained and they settled on the current setup. Of course, it's all part of the I-49 corridor.
