In 2000 Andy Jung reported that the 310/10/55 route is 38 miles, which blows
away the 24-mile Lake Ponchartrain Causeway.

And the longest contiuously elevated sections you can drive on at just over
38
miles!
I-310 = 5 miles
I-10 = 10 miles
I-55 = 23 miles
GRAND TOTAL = 38 miles!
Now I wonder why this doesn't qualify for the Guiness Book of Records? It
beats
the nearby Lake Pontchartrain Causeway by 14 miles! The I-55 section is just
a
mile shy of tieing the 24 mile Causeway.
