I found that my city
(http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=37.563562,-122.258692&spn=0.036583,0.068248&t=h&hl=en)
has the entire city in very high resolution for the entire city. They use
it as their database of all the homes and buildings in the city. It would
not surprise me if the resolution is a cm or better. The streets are all
labeled.
I am grabbing their images and making a high resolution Google Earth overlay
for my neighborhood.
Since many cities use aerial survey images of their town for databases,
there might be a lot of very high resolution image files out there all over
the world that can be put into Google Earth.
Maybe it can become the thing to do for lots of cities to publish their
aerial survey images on line or better yet publish those images as overlays
in Google Earth .kmz files.
