Ok...just received a summons for income tax return, for some unfiled
941's.
I need to appear before the IRS agent next week.

Facts:
- all payroll taxes were paid on time
- no 1120S's have been filed yet for those years
- i have no "books", other than checking account statements, and a
spread*** where i track things

Can i "cure" this by hand delivering these returns before next week?

Most of the time, yes.

If not, do i need to bring the checking acct statements?
(I obviously dont want to trigger an audit on the entire
corp's books for that year).

The best thing to do is to call the IRS agent (ask if they're an Agent or an
Officer) and ask them if bringing in the prepared forms is sufficient enough
at this time.

But, be prepared to bring in everything else if they want to see it.

That you don't have "records" - meaning receipts, etc - is troubling. The
spread*** might sound "cool" and all, but it isn't a supporting document.
It may be useful, only if the other records support the entries in the
spread*** numbers.
