There is a de minimis amount, below which your wife would not need
to pay any SE tax. If her Schedule C profit is not more than $433
then she is not required to file Schedule SE or pay SE tax.

So all I'm doing is moving the tax liability from me to her. Seems moot if
we file jointly.



If you pay your young child, as an employee, there is no FICA tax.


Hardly seems worth it setting up an employee. I also suspect it could be
considered tax fraud if the child didn't actually perform the work.
