Out of the 50 states, 7 have no income tax, 2 only tax interest and
dividends and 41 have a regular income tax. Out of the 41 states with a
regular income tax only 6 states (AZ, CO, IL, IN, MI, PA) have a top income
tax bracket below Maryland's 4.75%. Maryland's state income tax is one of
the lower ones, not one of the higher ones. Information source:
