It's ESOP, not options, and i have since found out that my account will
be frozen or isolated, but the value of my stock can still decrease or
increase depending on the profit of my company. So theoretically, all
the money i've accrued for 19 years can be lost if the company does not
profit. Kind of disconcerting to work so many years and left with the
prospect of no pension.
You should have an option, at some point in time, to roll that account to a
rollover IRA. Then you can diversify to other investments.
Talk to your plan administrator (with the employer) to see what your options
and rights are. Then go talk to a financial planner to see what you can do
with it from there.
