QuickBooks vs. Microsoft Small Business Accounting 2006

I have just received a copy of Microsoft SBA 2006. It was almost free
(after rebate).
I have been doing my bookeeping / taxes using Excel spreadsheets for
years.
I finally see that accounting software (like QuickBooks) would help me.
I am reluctant to use SMA-2006 because QuickBooks is SUCH a popular
program.
Can anyone provide advice or opinion about using SBA instead of
QuickBooks.
The advantage of SBA over QuickBooks, for me, is that I already have
SBA and I would save a couple hundred bucks.
Thank you for any opinions or suggestions you care to offer.
My gut tells me "use QuickBooks"; that QuickBooks is SO popular for a
reason. By the way, I am technical. I am a programmer.
David
