No.
Head of Household filing status does require paying more than half the cost
of maintaining the household for the year. It also requires that the
household include someone related to the taxpayer by blood or marriage or a
formally-placed foster child. Thus, in your situation no one can file as
Head of Household. You paid more than half the cost, but there's no
"qualifying person" on whom you can base the filing status. You'll file as
Single, as will GF.
As for dependency, the first thing to look at is how much income GF had. If
it's more than $3,200 GF cannot be your dependent, nor can any of her
children. The children are all "qualifying children" of GF for exemption,
child tax credit, EIC, and child care credit. (This assumes no child
contributed more than half his own support.) You will have only your own
personal exemption.
