401K self deadline
What was the deadine to setup 401k self? I understand from Fidelity it
was Dec 31, 2005. so I should have setup and account by then and then
could have contributed to that account till April 15, 2006 and got
write-off in taxes towards 2005. is that right? What if the account was
not opened with a borkerage till then? How will IRS know when the
account was opened, really I have upto April 15 to contrbute to my self
employed 401k, so this thing of ESTABLISHING account etc by a deadline
seems mute. Can I still establish this account now and take deduction
for 2005.
