I've been involved in starting new big 8 usenet newsgroups before. It
was a lot of work, especially when there's a population that didn't
want you to succeed and voted against it. This ng isn't one of them,
but I can appreciate what the founders went through.

Perhaps that's a good solution for misc.survivalism. If the political
pundits started their own newsgroup they'd also understand and
appreciate the fruits of their labor. I'll go out on a limb and guess
that the old and new m.s posters would not infiltrate and shit in
their newsgroup... even if they'd deserve it.

The question is do they have the ability to build their own house?
They certainly have the time to expend. I'd even vote for it.

years reflected social survival as the number one concern.
Technical survivalists melted away.

Yeah, I remember, been subbed to this ng for a long time. Rarely post
now, just lurked back then.

Now its time to return. The coming financial crunch, food and
energy shortages combined with civil unrest, will be a challenge
to Americans.

Store gold, guns, ammo, food and water. I think you'll need
them this time.

If we get rid of this sophomoric political bullshit then folks might
come back here to discuss those things. On-topic posts? The horror.
Perhaps we need to give these shithouse rats a dose of their own
garbage, inundate this place with survival related info until they're
just a vague bad memory?

There aren't very many of them and it's dead easy to see them nym
shift. Hell, you can get rid of a shitload of them by just filtering
out everything from .gov That's ken frenchu, a New Jersey troll. If
you stumble across the dumbest ass usenet troll, like deep doodoo,
frenchu will be replying to it. All it takes for the rest is maybe a
minute or two a day.

Or perhaps usenet really is going through its final death throes and
it's time to hang it up. Either way, I'm ready. Anyone else want to
reclaim this place?
