Got it.

Yup. That pretty much sums it up.

Heh, I just enabled display of the newsgroup list and no wonder the
influx of freakazoids, "alt.gossip.celebrities".

National Inquirer subscribers.

I'm surprised they didn't bring up Obama's prehensile tail.

It was a much longer list. I trimmed it to the two because that is
where the other poster wrote from. Now, I've cut it to one. I'm
trying to remember to trim the ng's posted in my reply to only the one
or two that are involved in the part of the thread that I'm replying
to.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how can you tell where other people
have posted from? I use "paid for" Agent as you do but mine isn't the
really expense one. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I've often wished I could determine the origin so that I could delete
other NGs.
Sue

I've set the properties -> Posting Messages -> Introductions

"I skipped the meeting, but the Memos showed that %from% wrote on
%date% in %newsgroup% :"

that way, I at least have some clue as to where I was reading when I
hit reply. (I don't like computers for this reason,
you can't
remember it was in a grey book, 3 inches thick, about mid-book, on the
upper part of column on the left page. Or "In the yellow notebook,
in the back ..." Yeah, I visualize my "memory" On the computer the
information sources tend to blur together because there just isn't a
way to put a sticky note on a computer page.)

I have CRS disease. :o(

I used to know what that meant....

That said ... I wonder ...

Okay, you can put whatever header info into the response, just put the
header variable between the %: %[insert header field]%

*I* can?

Yes!! You Can!!!!

I can't figure out what the hell you're talking about. I
got as far as finding the Introductions business at which point my
brain imploded leaving a slimy mess that my children will spend 3
weeks cleaning up.

Well, just as long as they keep busy and out of trouble.

I don't think the keyboard will ever be the same.

Ewww.

All seriousness aside. I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to
accomplish, so I can't figure it out at this end and then try to give
some step by step help.
But I'll agree with you, there's a lot of things which require
more time to figure out, than you have available, especially when
you're trying to get something _done_. BY the time I got the program
written, coded and debugged, I could have crunched all the numbers by
hand! Or whatever. (I'm currently trying to get Eudora's mail
filters to Cooperate.)
But for you, I'm willing to give it the old college try.

That's OK. All I wanted to do was be able to see from which newsgroup
a poster was posting. When I reply I don't like leaving 30 bazillion
groups in (I'm sure there are that many) but since what I post is so
terribly important I don't want to cut out the group of the person to
whom I'm replying. (Please note that the "terribly important" part
was extreme sarcasm.)
Although I too use Eudora I sure can't help you with filters. My ISP
(Earthlink) does a wonderful job of filtering for me.
thanks
Sue
