[Default] I missed the Staff Meeting but the Minutes record that
Gunner Asch <gunner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> reported Elvis on Sat, 17
Jan 2009 04:57:29 -0800 in misc.survivalism :
Mexico is a country rich in natural resources, industry, education and
culture.
Unfortunately its not shared universally amongst its citizens.
The illegals we see coming into the US, are the poor and uneducated.
Cites? :-)
I find it difficult to believe that a Mexican machinist is poor
and or uneducated. (I'm not going to say anything about his ability
_as_ a machinist.)
And I also find it difficult to believe that poor people can
afford the fees the coyotes charge.
I wonder how many of the illegals are going to El Gigante del
Norte because they can make more there, than at home. Or they can
make more in a factory job in the US than they could as a professional
back in Mexico. (I was told such was the case in Spain back in the
70s; only then it was a doctor going to work in Germany to earn enough
to open a practice in Spain.)
The middle class and educated stay in Mexico, where they do have a very
large middle and upper class.
This I can believe. The thing to remember is that the rich can
always "board their yacht" and sail away.
