My take. There have been rumors of an imminent attack since just
after 9-11-2001. They used to run the colors up and down the flag
pole when there was bad news to be masked. They did that until it
became a joke. Now they leak reports.
True, there have been reports of an upcoming attack since 9/11 which
never materialized. The authors interesting points in the article
referenced some similar behaviors witnessed just prior to the London
bombings, though, such as shutting down of web sites, chat rooms, etc.
A trip down memory lane. Note the fourth paragraph.
I hear ya. And your point is taken.
I do keep an eye on these types of things, though, as I find it
intriguing to try and figure out how the enemies minds work.
The question is -- who are the enemies? Who has been the
most successful in attacking our rights and our economy? It
sure ain't al qaeda.
This is what the little squirrel would call a lie by diversion.
It's my opinion, and it is certainly not a lie of any kind.

You'll have to explain to the little squirrel that opinions aren't
lies. He gets confused.

When they are stated as factual events, rather than opinions, they certainly can be lies. Curly understands this, you don't seem to.

Now, we all state things from time to time that are opinions without the caveat. Most of the time, it is obvious, and we get away with the small white lie of laziness. When outrageous things are stated categorically as fact, then expect a bit of heat. This is something you fail to understand, as well. Extraordinary statements require extraordinary proof.

It is not our job to persuade or educate.

The default in ordinary parlance, unless otherwise noted through cites
or claim, is opinion. Keep in mind that what may seem extraordinary to
you is common knowledge to the studied and astute. Be constructive and
feel free to *add* to the discussion instead of criticizing.
