Well, it hasn't happened in AZ where it is now legal to carry concealed
in schools.
Illinois is a non-carry state, totally. Funny how crazies and criminals
are allowed to prey on the unarmed public in non carry states and gun
free zones.

That isn't the issue.  What about COLUMBINE?  No students at that
school were old enough to LEGALLY own or carry firearms.  Period.

And the School Guard they had?  I would be surprised if he was
carrying a squirt gun filled with ammonia.

I live in Illinois, and there is No Way you can prevent this from
happening in younger populations.  College students are *borderline*
adults, and may or may NOT be old enough to carry a lethal weapon, and
by their behavior on Spring Breaks, it is obvious that most of them
are not emotionally mature enough to carry lethal weapons.

I say this as a gun owner and booster for the last 40 years.

But I'm guessing you don't apply the same brush to ALL students,
and not their professors, I'd imagine?

I think professors should concentrate on teaching.  I haven't come
across any *Rambo type* professors in my career.

ANYBODY who carries and bears lethal firepower needs to be highly
trained in the use of deadly force, otherwise a lethal accident is
just waiting to happen.

It takes COPS years to develop the required skills, and they do the
job for a living.  I don't trust -anybody- who is not highly trained
and skilled in the use of lethal force, to carry either concealed or
revealed.  There is 1 in 100 educators who is going to know when to
draw a bead and pull the trigger, and 1 in 100 who is going to have
*what it takes* in the gut to take a human life.

In THEORY it all makes sense, but knowing what I do about humans, not
everyone who is eligible, is qualified to make Life and Death
decisions in the 1.7 seconds required to process the incoming sight
picture.

If you think killing is easy, you've never done it.  When it comes
crunch time, it comes down to REFLEX.  If you haven't practices over
and over and over and over, you won't have that reflex, and in that
extra second you spend *thinking it over,* you're going to get shot to
death yourself or kill someone you shouldn't.

There is no room for a mistake when it comes to discharging a firearm,
wars notwithstanding.

There may be some people who qualify to carry, but they haven't proved
anything if they haven't drawn blood.  If you haven't killed.  If you
haven't taken a life.  If you haven't gazed at the blood, guts, and
hell you created with a weapon, I don't trust you with one.

Have you ever shot anyone?
You speak as though you've made the decision,
but don't seem to be aware of some basics.
