Mighty nice of the Government to be concerned about you paying their
high taxes....

I wonder when the credit card companies will have you scrubbing their
toilets to pay off their late fees?

Plan would let seniors work to pay taxes By JIM FITZGERALD, Associated
Press Writer

How can this be described other than "slavery"?

A person works all their life to purchase their home, pay into
retirement funds supposedly guaranteed by the full faith of the U.S.
Government and then have to work through retirement or lose their home?

Welcome to Corporate America.

You are not alone in this thinking Curly....when I too read this article,
the "S" word came to mind.

Interesting how the concept of working to lower taxes never comes up......

I would expect in time that as the property taxes increase to the breaking
point that the Governments (local, State and Federal) will start taxing
other traceable property....including guns.

That's what happened in Calfornia in the 70's.  Elderly people were being
taxed out of their homes forcing Proposition 13 which put an absolute cap
on property tax increase.

This is not possible at the Federal level.

Just because one has the right to bear arms doesn't mean that you can't
be forced to pay handsomely for that right.

A lot of elderly will be thrown out onto the streets before public opinion
forces a change.  A revolution is more likely but the damage to many will
already be done.

Yes...I was thinking of the CA 70's situation too.

I am curious how CA will be handling the drop in property revenues in
the future....raising taxes on everything else?
