More than 100 people were injured as an Amtrak passenger train
collided with a freight train Friday on the south side of the city,
U.S. media reported, quoting fire officials.
Approximately 150 passengers were on the Amtrak train, the Associated
Press quoted officials as saying. Fifteen ambulances were on their way
to the scene.
CNN quoted Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford as saying five
people are in serious to critical condition, apparently all crew
members.
About 100 passengers have minor injuries, such as bruises and bumps,
he reportedly said.
