List of recessions
From that page, I find there were recessions after WW1, Korea, and
Vietnam. Some are blamed on the cost of the wars. What happens when
the costly Iraq war ends?
There were recessions after OPEC quadrupled prices and after the
Iranian Revolution. What happens if there is general instability in
the middle east? And/or in South American countries who don't like
us? And/or relations with Russia keep deteriorating?
There were several recessions after bubbles burst. What happens when
the housing bubble bursts?
There were recessions after financial collapses. What happens when
the housing bubble brings down major banks? What happens when Detroit
can't meet it's debts? What happens when the pension plans can't meet
obligations? What happens if social security can't meet obligations?
What if we get them all at the same time?
The unprepared will be drinking dog piss out of rusty hubcaps.
