I don't see being a veteran as a big aid to gang activity. Does
having been a tank repairman really make you more effective in Bloods
or MS-13 type street gang? Even for those in the infantry, does
having fought in a kind of war in which "infantry" fighting typically
means calling for air support make you that much more effective in
five-on-five or one-on-one urban fighting without air support when you
get home?
