Still, for entertainment purposes, some folks would get a lot more
from these shows with an actual map sitting on the coffee table.

All Survivorman and Man vs Wild is about, is getting back to
civilization. This isn't useful information, because in a *** hit
the fan scenario, the idea will be to get -away- from civilization.

Otoh, in an accidental *** up, like a small plane crash you might
survive, then, the information is an example, not a rule book on what
to do. Most of us do not have the physical stamina to perform the
stunts and acrobatics that these guys do. They are half my age and at
least twice my strength, and are in the best of health to begin with.

The lessons are interesting as they show you what is possible for
THEM. Not you and I in particular. And don't forget that they are
guaranteed a happy ending, because either a camera crew or a helo is
going to rescue them when their lives are coming to an end.

I would much rather see a show for the ordinary Joe.
