is happening is that the DA is going to charge him,
Rush has been formally charged Stuart.
As you subsequently noted, he entered a plea of not guilty at his
arraignment.
It's a face saving device for the DA - only a biased Democrat judge
would not give Limbaugh credit for the treatment he's already
completed.
Many states have diversion programs and the courts are more or less directed
as to their rulings in these matters.
One thing worth noting, however, is that the court must affirm the
agreement. Absent that, this matter will go forward to trial.
In fact, the court can disregard the agreement with or without cause or
reason, and set a date for a preliminary hearing. Judges have been known to
do that too. They don't need a reason.
As for the DA, this is a great political move for him. He can't loose. He is
playing hard ball with a celebrity entertainer and showing compassion at the
same time. That is what the mantra of compassionate conservatism is supposed
to be about isn't it Stuart?
You seem to have discerned that and it bothers you.
This agreement also allows slanderous, unthinking, rabid, Republican
hating communsit to say that Limbaugh was guilty of something - simply
because the idea is just complex enough that they can lie to
themselves.
Yes, it does. I can't help but wonder why he didn't go through the entire
process. Apparently he weighed all of the competing factors involved and
decided to sacrifice the principals he so vocally espouses. What a surprise.
This behavior seems to be on your mind as well and that's a real surprise. I
had no idea you could balance two distinct thoughts on the head of a pin.
WOW!
Sadly, we can look forward to the communist traitors to keep repeating
this lie to the end of time.
All the guy need do to prevent that is show a little back bone. Excercise
the legal system damn it, and quite bitching. That is well within his
ability. He certainly has the wherewithal to pursue his rights. In fact, I'm
sure that he could easily raise the funds as contributions if he wished. His
broadcasts provide the perfect venue to undertake such an effort and Rush
hasn't been bashful in the past about such.
Were he to fight this and win, he'd be a real hero to his listeners. I guess
he'd rather make excuses instead and hope for the best.
I'm sure he'll be just fine.
