I'm not going to have a land line soon, so I'm wondering about
internet via cell-phone. How does that work? Say I get a 1500 minute
cellphone plan, do I keep my local ISP and dial that number for
internet like I do now? Do I need to get a specific kind of phone when
I sign up, say one that plugs into a USB port, or something?
You just have to get a phone that has web capability and include web access
in your plan. Most, if not all new phones these days, are web capable. You
just use the display on your phone as your web browser. Personally, I've
never used the web capabilities of my phone, but I doubt it's anywhere near
as fast as even a crappy dial up connection. Why not get cable or DSL?
Dial up is obsolete anyway.
