Take a look at the postings pro US agression , and anti US agression .


How many regular posters do you suppose there are on MS including
regular cross posters? How many of them are Americans? Now, here's
the test. Please list those who are pro US aggression which generally
means pro Bush. When you do this it would help me if you would post
quotes by these people to exemplify their pro Bush/pro aggression
stands because I don't read too many posts. I don't see wide spread
jingoism on MS. So, please enlighten me. Besides which Steve
doesn't just insult the posters. He insults *all* "yanks". Is he
really that ignorant of the polls here?

Acceptable to which posters? It was never acceptable to me, Jeff
McCann, Mr. May (well, not exactly), Cliffy, Robert, etc. I don't
believe that even the obnoxious Stuart would qualify for your
statement above. For myself (and I've said this before) I never
considered whether Bush lied or didn't. I don't care if Saddam was
standing on his palace steps with WMDs in one hand and giving the one
fingered salute with the other with "*** the USA" tattooed on the
back. I suspect that many of the other posters pretty much feel this
way. We had no business going there. For this I (and the others)
deserve to be called hypocrite (in re support for the IRA and how many
posters have actually expressed that support aside from giving Steve a
bad time), stupid yank, fucking yank and so forth. Remember, Steve
doesn't name names or say "most" or "many" or "some". He includes us
all.

From what little I read (not much) there seems to be plenty. If there
isn't perhaps it's a matter of "why argue with someone whose mind is
so closed?". I've made a couple of posts about it. Never argued with
anyone because why bother?


TO sum it up , there is very few US-ites who are not emotionaly attached
to their govt , its very easy to make the mistake of assuming all are
like that .

Exactly!! At this point I (and *many* other posters) am anti-Bush and
anti-actions of the US government. I assume that when you say anti-US
you mean the government. I think it unfair and rude of Steve to
class us all together especially since I'm pretty sure there are so
few examples of the people he *really* means in his diatribes (but, I
await your list).
Now, you have brothers. When you were growing up and all living
together did you get along? If typical, probably not always. You
might have done plenty of fighting among yourselves. But, what
happened when someone from outside picked on one or the other of you?
You might have found it perfectly acceptable to call your brother a
stupid arse (or some such), but what happened if the kid next door
called him that? My kids were so contentious with each other that I
referred to them as the Battling Bradys. However, if someone from
"outside" tried anything on one of them it was "circle the wagons".
Perhaps some of what you refer to is the same.

I personaly find it sad-amusing to see people getting revved over their
"national identy" ... and falling for it .

I assume you don't mean me as I don't get revved up over national
identity. I get revved up by personal identity and, for some odd
reason, only by Steve. He said once that he does this because he's so
disappointed in Americans. I guess I get revved up so much because
I'm so disappointed in him.
