Re: Global Warming Is Greatest Hoax Ever

So, are you saying you changed your opinion on the environmental

I try to base my opinions about the issues on the issues.

Who made the comment about being caught between scoundrels and scalawags? Mark Twain?

This part of the planet is definitely warming, we have not had a subzero winter in years and not enough snow to mention. The ocean is warming faster than the air, and that's weird. It could be sea currents changing, but the evidence is poor.

Earth Liberation Front? Broken record time: "The worse things are, the better they are." The left seizes on something someone thinks is a problem and encourages the people who think it's a problem to go nuts obsessing over it. They also recruit people to join who do not really have an interest in "the problem", but do like the chaos. Real problems probably work better, but reality is not necessary. The purpose is to fsk things up and bring on the Marxist Millennium.

I think the Earth is warming. Humans causing it? I hope so, but doubt it.

Why do I hope so? Because the continents still stretch from nearly the north pole to the south pole, restricting ocean circulation. We still have a land mass on the south pole. The north pole is nearly land locked and Greenland is close to the north pole. All these conditions existed in the dinosaur era Ice Age, or close enough. If humans can warm the planet by our activity, we have a chance to avoid another Glacial Period.

A possible extra problem we have right now is that Mount Everest and the Himalayas catch a lot of rain. CO2 is absorbed by that rain, creating a slightly acidic solution. The acid binds with minerals from the mountain range, sequestering CO2 and the compound erodes down to the Indian Ocean. Is the sun really cooler now than it was "back then", before the Tibetan Massif rose? Or have we lost a lot of CO2 and the greenhouse gases that keep us alive?
