Its entirely possible you may be correct. Given that there was a
horrendous swing to the Left since the 60s, the Dems going WAY left,
and the Republicans going somewhat left, far too many accomidations
were made during that shift.

Now that we are swinging back to the Right again (which is a normal
political cycle btw)...those that made accomodations are deemed
suspect, and rightfully so.

We are in great need of another political party that is to the Right
of the moderate Republican one. But there are none on the horizon,
that arent filled with cranks, nutcases or pie in the sky dreamers.
We are accustomed to a two party system, and since the Democrats are
currently imploding and will soon be a footnote in history, we need
something to replace the Republicans, as they have become the old
Democrat party in position on the political spectrum.

Bush will be remembered for being a moderate, not a conservative.
