What I and a lot of other people are saying is that there are no such

Cambodian, Indian or Indianan jobs. There are two sorts of work in the
world: moving dirt, and directing the moving of dirt.
While (the last I heard) 'Japanese' cars are now assembled in the US, the precision machining (engine/transmission) - the well paid/skilled jobs - are still reserved for Japanese workers. Doesn't the US have one machine shop that can whack out a credible gear?
Ever hear of General Electric, Pratt&Whitney, Lycoming, Continental, Cummins, Caterpillar. I don't think a single aircraft is flying on a Japanese designed engine (though some parts of some engines are built in Japan). The class A diesel tractor trailer rigs on the road are all powered by American designed and built diesel engines driving American built transmissions, (Spicer, Eaton,) through American designed and built drive lines (Eaton) with Westinghouse air brakes.
Japan inc.'s success is staring to catch up with them. Just look at the recent recalls by Toyota, Nissan and Honda. Then check out the product liability suits that are working their way through the courts on their products.
And foreign built don't mean crap. Just add up the repair bills of a BMW and a Ford or Chevy.
Seems there still are 'Japanese jobs'. They are just farming out the dirt moving to the US while they hold the good jobs for themselves.
Eh, McDonalds is outsourcing the drive through lanes to call centers. No doubt Stuart would rather it be handled locally, with the attendant increase in errors and time till the order is served.
How does where it's done effect how well it's done? Or are you making the blanket statement that everyone else is better at everything than someone in the US?
