That is unless of course you happen to be near a Tennessee or Kentucky national guard unit. Them good ole boys have rigged up there stills and are brewing their own beverages based on old family recipes handed down from their grand pappys.

Where do they get enough corn?

Suckola's just lying again, as usual. Currently, he's pretending he's in the Mid East.

Jeff

Just in case you weren't' with the program, Sour mash whiskey isn't made from corn its made from grain, wheat generally, but occasionally rye.

As for pretending to be in the middle east, I could think of at least a dozen places I would rather be pretending to be posting from. By the way the French report babes that are staying in my hotel are getting a $250.00 American for an hour of their time and will double team you for $2500 for the night. Agence francies would be proud.

Right across from the hotel is a girls school. I watched the young girls (10 to 14) going to school in their school uniforms. They were wearing a blue head covering (the Hijab) with white blouses and dark blue jumpers.

It is early Saturday morning here and every thing is very quiet. The moslems like the Jews start there sabbath with the evening call to prayer from the minorette of the mosque at sundown on our Friday night. We won't see much in the way of people on the street until after sundown today.

I will spend most of the day working on documentation and filing reports with the company. I will do most of this from the hotel room as being on the street during the sabbath is a good way to incur the wrath of some of the locals. Most of the hotel staff are from the Philippines so they can work on the sabbath. Another local custom that is a pain in the *** is the practice of fasting from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday of the Sabbath. Of course once the sun goes down tonight the feasting will begin. Any way I always pick up a little something extra on Friday to nibble on, during their sabbath. Hell its my hotel room I am out of sight so I can do what I want.

Another little interesting observation, is that most Iraqis are really pissed at western news reporters. They don't observe any of the local customs and offend the hell out of the natives. Maybe that's why some many of them get kidnapped. We are under instructions from our headquarters to go out of our way to observe native customs, and do not offend their sensibilities.
