I agree!

And as a note to the rest of the folks...

That was fairly much the case in Florida last season. I found that the radio
was really all that was necessary and only to tune in for an update every
hour or so. The radio did help---it was nice to learn that they were passing
out ice and water a block away at the FD so I went over and got a bag of
ice. I did have a battery operated TV (an old Sony) and while it interesting
to see more houses and trees blown over I had already seen my share around
the neighborhood and wasn't that interested in seeing more---it got old real
fast. Actually, the only reason I occasionally tuned in to watch the TV
news was to see and fantasize about the news anchorwoman. Besides, it
seemed a bit less noisy and less busy not having to watch and listen to the
TV---kinda reminded me of the 1960's when living was a bit quieter.

The radio worked out so well that I sort of keep my eye out for good decent
pocket radios---and they seem hard to find. A week ago I came across the
Sony ICF-S10MK2 which is an AM/FM pocket radio that uses two AA batteries
and retails for $9.95. I would provide a link but the link is three lines
long so do a search at http://www.sonystyle.com for the icf-s10mk2 and it
will take you right to a link for more information on the item as well as
online ordering. For what they are asking I think it would be well worth it
to buy two or three.
