There are certain things a radio can't convey, such as projected paths of
hurricanes, damage maps, and so on. Sure, you could sit there with a map
and a radio, but that would be kind of a pain, and not quite as accurate.
Remember with Katrina, all but one radio station went off the air.
Satellite TV (or radio, with it's wind resistant antenna) would have been
worth it's weight in gold.
