So what... if part of your heating system they're all "heat vents".
Actually they're registers. You need to ascertain which are supply
registers and which return registers... that it has a mechanism for
opening/closing does not indicate whether it's a supply or return.
Supply registers should not be adjustable - the supply side of a forced air system should not be restricted - there is no reason to do so and doing so with rugs or the wrong type of filter can cause overheating.
