hate scarves, They are always coming loose, falling off, and

to mention the barn cats thing they are something to climb up,
and ponies think they are something to grab, as well as getting
stuck in doors and such.

If anyone knows what I saw on tv. what is it called? I want to
get one.

in knitting terms they are called a "cowl". they can be just
neckwarmer size, or they can be somewhat larger, allowing you to pull
them up around your ears as a sort of hood.
yes, they are very practical for farm work, as well as great for
kids, since they have to try a lot harder to 'lose' them <g>, plus
they don't snag up when climbing trees.
