I get a laugh out of these guys that spend $800 on a chain saw, then
spend half or more of their free time all summer long cutting
firewood. They burn up gallons of gas, and oil. Then they buy
trailers and other wood hauling equipment. In the process they bust
up their trucks, blow tires and do other mechanical damage to their
vehicles in the woods, not to mention more gas. They finally get the
wood home, and have to spend another thousand dollars on a log
splitter. Of course during this whole process, they have to spend a
small fortune of chainsaw repairs and new chains. Of course none of
this accounts for the many accidents that occur when trees dont fall
just right, and someone gets badly injured, which costs a fortune in
the hospital and lost days of work.
And you've given me a laugh. If you think that rural people would follow
such a simplistic progression leading from the purchase of a chain saw just
to get wood then you clearly know nothing about rural living.
