This kind of chemophobia, technological illiteracy and splintered logic makes
an engineer bang his head against the wall. Is this 2008 or 1208?

Can you even define chemical? Like C6H12O22? Bad chemical, huh. Sucrose.
Sugar. How 'bout Ca3(PO4)2? Gad, that's awful. It has an alkali metal and
phosphorus, you know, that incendiary war that burns people alive. Did I
forget to mention that this is the essential fertilizer ingredient in bone
meal?

The usual "chemical" used to eradicate stumps is potassium nitrate. Saltpeter.
It turns the wood into a crude nitrocellulose that burns out quickly. Where
does saltpeter come from? The ground. Bat ***. Bird ***. Cow ***. With
a little processing, pee. It, along with its cousin potassium nitrite, is a
natural food preservative used for centuries. Horrible, awful stuff, huh?
Damn those awful chemicals

Pouring vinegar on a stump does nothing other than make vinegar futures go up
a little. It does NOTHING to wood. What do you think that vinegar was stored
in before the modern age? That's right, wooden casks. duh. Even if vinegar
had some effect on wood, acetic acid is a volatile chemical. That is, it
evaporates quickly. Pour it on and in a little while it has evaporated and
all you have left is an empty jug.
