OK, I know....and I feel stupid....

But sometime between the age of about 13 and the present -- a few
decades later -- I forgot how to open one of sewn bags feed
bags....probably has something to do with becoming a sullen teen,
going off to college, etc for the better part of 15-20 years.

Anyway, You know the bags I mean, the ones with 20-pounds of flour, 50
pounds of rabbit chow, etc., with the stitched cotton string across
the top of the bag.

The past decade or so, I always just grab my handy Old Timer knife
from my belt and slice open the bag.

However, my teenager has been spending time out in the real world and
he must have seen someone perform the miracle of opening the bag
without a knife, because he said, "Hey, Dad, you know, you can just
open that by pulling the string."

I mumbled something, like, "I know," and then changed the subject.

So, here I am staring at a bag of rabbit chow -- in secret -- and
yanking at both ends and getting nowhere.

Now, I know when I was a small tike, I could do this -- of course at
that age I could jump off the roof and not break anything either.

But, if someone would be kind enough to let me know what I am missing
here....

Look at the loops. Pull in the direction that makes the loop seem to fall through the paper, cloth or whatever.
