Don't recall the details, but the gist of the incident was this: The
owners of a mountain lake surrounded by conifers wanted a bigger lake.
They decided that what stood between them a bigger lake was those pesky
trees using so much water. So, they cut down trees bordering the lake.
The water level in the lake went down.
Turns out that at their/similar locations, conifers "capture" more water
from fog/mist than they consume; they're a net positive.
the other night on the tv newscast the bubble head
blonde told us, local wells are being to go dry. she
was fascinated with a company people were hiring to
lower a camera into the well in order to view the dry
well bottom. duh.
today a more worth while report appeared in the N&O
pointing out how it's the shallower wells, called bored
wells that are the ones going dry and not the deeper wells
referred to as drilled wells.

the value in reporting is how the report contains information
of a useful nature and NOT some bubble head blonde to ogle over.
